Highwood was founded in 2019 by Desmond Kingsford, CFA to do a better job for a select group of long-term investors than traditional asset managers.

The firm's mission is to compound every dollar of invested capital into $5 over 10 years without taking undue risk.

The firm's founder and PM, Desmond Kingsford, CFA, has more than 19yrs experience as a fundamental value investor in Europe. Prior to founding Highwood, he spent 11 years as a Partner and Senior Analyst for MSD Capital's European Strategy based in London, UK. MSD Capital is the exclusive manager of Michael Dell's personal capital. Highwood is executing substantially the same strategy as what was used at MSD Capital in London, with a clear mission and alignment of incentives crafted to prioritize returns on invested capital over AuM Growth.
