PURPOSE

The Food & Beverage Supervisor (Events) is a hybrid role responsible for the successful execution and support of Banquets and Events at Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa. Reporting to the Event Manager and collaborating closely with the broader F&B Leadership team, this role plays a critical part in delivering smooth, well-coordinated event services with a focus on guest satisfaction, operational consistency, and service excellence. In addition to the execution of Banquets and Events, the F&B Supervisor may also be required to assist in the day-to-day operation of other Food & Beverage outlets, including the Cinnamon Bear, L’Apres Café, L’Apres Lounge, and In-Room Dining. The position demands adaptability, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach in both event execution and outlet service, helping maintain high brand standards, guest experience, and team morale across all areas of the Food & Beverage division.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous hotel or restaurant leadership experience required
  • Experience in banqueting, catering, and/or event execution preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; guest-service mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with event documentation (e.g., BEOs, REOs, Captain’s Reports)
  • Excellent communication skills; English fluency required (additional languages an asset)
  • Strong working knowledge of F&B operations and service etiquette
  • Proficient in POS, Sales, and restaurant software (Agilysys/InfoGenesis, Delphi, OpenTable, etc.)
  • Serving It Right Certification required
  • Occupational First Aid and Food Safe Level 1 certifications are assets
     
     

PRIMARY DUTIES

Event & Banquet Operations

  • Act as the on-site supervisor for events, overseeing set-up, service, and breakdown
  • Support execution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in coordination with Event Manager
  • Liaise with F&B, Culinary, Conference Services, and other departments to ensure event readiness
  • Monitor event timelines, guest service quality, and adherence to brand standards
  • Complete post-event Captain’s Reports and communicate relevant feedback to Event Manager

 Daily Leadership & Operational Support

  • Attend and participate in daily operations meetings and event briefings, as required
  • Supervise and assist with set-up and service for outlets when events are not active
  • Support scheduling and task delegation for banquet teams during peak service
  • Lead by example in service professionalism, teamwork, and responsiveness

 Guest Experience & Quality Assurance

  • Monitor guest and event planner feedback during and after events, resolving issues promptly
  • Conduct visual inspections of event spaces to ensure cleanliness and readiness
  • Uphold licensing, food safety, and health standards in all F&B operations
  • Promote a high level of hospitality, ambiance, and guest satisfaction at all functions

 Team Development & Training

  • Train and mentor Event service staff and/or F&B team members to meet service expectations
  • Foster a positive work culture and support team morale and accountability
  • Provide on-the-floor coaching and role modeling during service

 Administration & Communication

  • Assist with timekeeping, tip tracking, billing, and inventory as it relates to events
  • Ensure signage, menus, and event collateral are accurate and professionally presented
  • Communicate effectively with the Event Manager and leadership team regarding operational needs, staffing, and guest preferences
