Title:                          Project & Culture Manager
Department:          Title & Rights
Status:                      Regular, Full-Time
Pay Grid:                 Manager Tier 1 ($57,330.00 to $64,610.00 per year)
Reporting to:         Director of Title and Rights
   


Summary of Duties:

The Project and Culture Manager will provide project support to all Title & Rights department projects under the supervision of the Director of Title & Rights. This includes technical and administrative tasks for the effective management of projects and culture-related projects to the land and resources within Lil’wat Territory, including on-reserve lands.
 
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
  • Hire, train, and manage the culture team.
  • Provides support in research and coordination of all current Title and Rights department projects.
  • Facilitates project information meetings in relation to the Title & Rights department.
  • Coordination of all meetings between partners and external agencies who are collaborating with Lil’wat Nation.
  • Facilitates community engagement information materials and events for projects.
  • Attend community engagement and Committee meetings, some evenings and weekends required.
  • Provides technical support for Title & Rights Department projects within Lil’wat Territory, including on-reserve lands.
  • Assist with policy development related to land use planning and management both on-reserve and throughout Lil’wat Territory.
  • Supports project progress and, when necessary, adapts scope or timeline to achieve optimal results.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Carries out communication and coordination duties for the department, such as quarterly newsletter, receiving and directing calls, emails, and mail from community members, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
  • Professional Certification, Diploma, Degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating and/or managing land use management projects.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office 365, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation, and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and community members.
  • Knowledge of land management issues and legislation affecting First Nations both locally, regionally, and federally.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lil’wat Nation’s culture, history, reserve lands, and traditional territory.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License, a clean Driver’s Abstract, and a reliable vehicle.
  • Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
