Public Relations Coordinator
Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society is seeking a Public Relations Coordinator to work closely with the Communications staff to support the Executive Director with donor management and outreach. The perfect candidate is a resident of the region that is passionate about customer service, enjoys interacting in person, and is strong at sales and administration.
Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society is a non-profit charitable society responsible for managing the A´tl’ka7tsem / Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere designation. Alignment with their Guiding Principles is important in the candidate selected.
ABOUT THE ROLE - Benefits & Perks:
> Part-time or temporary work.
> Up to 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
> Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
> $24-$28.00 per hour.
> A supportive and collaborative work environment.

> Potential to work into a longer term contract.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE:
> 3-5 years of experience in the private sector in a similar sales and/or customer support role.
> Experience with fundraising and community engagement events and activities.
> Second language is an asset (Mandarin or Cantonese).
> Strong interpersonal skills; able to liaise with diverse people across the economic spectrum and maintain effective relationships, including interactions with high net worth individuals.
> Excellent ability to establish and enhance working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
> Demonstrated coordination, presentation, and facilitation skills.
> Experience with, or in the not-for-profit sector.
> Ability and Experience working with Microsoft office or analogous software (e.g., google suite) and various donor and relationship based applications.
> Required: BC driver’s license (or equivalent).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Relationship Development and Management:
> Organize, update and maintain contact lists and donor information.
> Engage personally with contacts as directed to engage more people and drive donations.
> Monitor and evaluate engagement activities.
> Manage email campaigns
> Attend community events.
> Coordinate and carry out relationship-building events in alignment with the fundraising strategy.
Stakeholder Relations:
> Engage with key donors, funders and rightsholders as a representative of HSBRIS.
> Contribute content for communication across social media and website channels and personalized emails.
Fundraising:
> Execute HSBRIS fundraising strategies and recruitment tools.
> Monitor donations, responding to all general enquires and donations.
