Description
Gender Diversity Basics (Online)
Great workplaces start behind the scenes.
Investing in your team means creating an environment where every employee feels respected, valued, and able to contribute their best. As businesses welcome new and returning staff for the busy summer season, understanding gender diversity is an important step toward building inclusive, supportive workplace cultures where everyone can thrive.
For many people, transgender issues are new territory, and the concepts related to gender diversity may feel unfamiliar or overwhelming. This self-paced online course provides a practical introduction to gender diversity, helping participants build knowledge, confidence, and skills for respectful workplace interactions.
Through a series of brief video modules, reflection activities, and knowledge checks, participants learn key terminology, concepts, and best practices for interacting respectfully with transgender, non-binary, and Two-Spirit individuals. Topics include pronouns, inclusive communication, and how to recover gracefully from mistakes.
The course takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete and can be completed at your own pace.
Key Takeaways Include:
- Learn to communicate respectfully with transgender, non-binary, and Two-Spirit individuals
- Build confidence in fostering inclusion and belonging within your workplace
- Develop a stronger understanding of gender diversity concepts and terminology
- Gain practical tools for creating more respectful and welcoming workplace interactions
- Support a positive workplace culture where employees feel valued and empowered
By investing in inclusive workplace practices, leaders can help create stronger teams, improve employee experiences, and foster environments where everyone can succeed.
Whether you're onboarding summer staff, leading a team, or looking to expand your understanding, this course provides practical knowledge that can help strengthen your workplace culture and support employee wellbeing.
