The Opportunity
We're looking for a commercially minded Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a hands-on role that combines core accounting responsibilities with operational business partnering. You'll work closely with Finance and Operations leaders to provide accurate financial reporting, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive business performance across multiple hospitality businesses.

What You Bring to the Table
- 2–3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including working with large, high-volume datasets.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A self-starter who enjoys solving hard problems and can confidently step into complex situations to drive results.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Finance and Operations.
- Professional, tactful and discreet when handling confidential information.
- Experience with Sage 300 (AccPac), ADP and other financial systems is an asset.
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to solve hard problems—together.
Your Days Will Look Like
- Support Finance leadership in the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing hospitality business.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements across multiple business units.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare year-end working papers for multiple businesses.
- Complete monthly GST and PST filings.
- Support weekly Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and liquor inventory processes.
- Partner with operational leaders to review budgets, pricing strategies, labour performance and key cost drivers.
- Provide financial analysis and insights that help maximize revenue, improve profitability and support operational decision-making.
- Build strong relationships across Finance and Operations, acting as a trusted business partner.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls.
- Uphold and champion the Gibbons Core Values in everything you do.
