BLACKCOMB LODGE - WHISTLER VILLAGE'S FIRST HOTEL LOCATED IN VILLAGE SQUARE IS LOOKING FOR A FRONT OFFICE ASSISTANT MANAGER


The Role

Blackcomb Lodge is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Front Office Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our front desk team and hotel operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership abilities, hands-on hotel experience, and a passion for customer service. The Front Desk Assistant will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering warm, efficient service throughout their stay. We are seeking a team player with 2–3 years of front desk experience in a ski resort town, who understands the unique demands of seasonal tourism and high guest volumes. You’ll handle reservations, guest services, and concierge-style support with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

Guest Services & Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day front desk operations to ensure a smooth and welcoming guest experience
  • Handle VIP guests, escalated service issues, and owner relations with professionalism
  • Manage concierge services and activity coordination (lift tickets, dining, transportation, etc.)
  • Monitor and respond to guest feedback to continuously improve service standards
  • Ensure front desk and lobby areas are clean, organized, and fully staffed
  • Set the work schedules for front desk and housekeeping
  • Ensure that the rooms and common areas are clean and inspected.
Team Leadership
  • Hire, train, and supervise seasonal front desk and guest services staff
  • Create front desk schedules and manage staffing levels during peak and off-peak times
  • Lead pre-season onboarding and ongoing employee development
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Sales & Reservations
  • Manage and track all reservations, cancellations, and modifications
  • Oversee group bookings and group sales coordination, including contracts and billing
  • Monitor sales performance, upselling, and service quality metrics
  • Provide oversight of OTA and channel connectivity (WebRezPro, Vertical Booking etc.)
Administrative & Oversight Duties
  • Oversee room inventory, availability, and housekeeping coordination
  • Ensure accurate daily reports, cash handling, and shift audits
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts for the front office
  • Setting, reviewing and adjusting Rates on a need to basis.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure seamless operations
  • Enforce all hotel policies, safety standards, and service protocols
 

Requirements:
  • 2–3 years of guest services supervisor experience in a ski resort town.
  • Experience using property management systems such as WebRezPro and/or OPERA
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during peak season
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and all major holidays
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a team-based environment
  • Familiarity with local ski culture, outdoor recreation, and resort amenities is a plus.
