Join the Whistler Chamber for a series of conversations in support of making business better for Whistler, bringing the Community of Practice together virtually to learn from one another around the most critical challenges facing small businesses in Whistler.
Conversations will centre around how to increase Whistler's Small Business Survival rate, and will include peer to peer mentoring on critical C19 issues for small businesses in Whistler. Take part in 2 out of 4 breakout sessions on the topics of technology, safety, HR and financials. You will have the opportunity to speak and learn from experts on your chosen topics.
In this virtual meetup format, attendees cameras and microphones will be on for portions of the event, to allow for collaboration and discussion
Sessions (choose 2 when you register):
- This finance session, led by Theresa Walterhouse, Partner at BDO, will help you navigate the intricacies of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), and other government supports that can be leveraged for your business. There will be time at the end of the session for questions and dialogue among participants.
- In this session, hosted by Tess Evans, Owner/Operator, HR Galaxy, we will be discussing the importance of investing in mental health programs to help support your team. Data collected by Deloitte Insights will show a direct return on investment when you invest in employee well-being. There will be time at the end of the session for questions and dialogue among participants.
- This session is designed to help your small business enhance their COVID-19 safety plans, to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19 within your staff and customers. This will include an overview of general COVID-19 safety requirements for businesses, as well a summary of initiatives currently in motion in Whistler such as the Village Walk through Program. There will be time at the end of the session for questions and dialogue among participants.
- This session will provide insight into how technology can be utilized in the business environment to support COVID-19 mitigation strategies including managing lineups and facilitating contact tracing. The session will include examples of two different technology platforms, showcasing how technology can be leveraged by your business. There will be time at the end of the session for questions and dialogue among participants.
