Keynote + Q&A with new MP, Pam Goldsmith Jones (aka: ?The Pam Jam?)
A special power brunch serving up some big, bold ideas for Whistler and the Sea to Sky. Former two-term mayor of West Vancouver and environmental champion, Goldsmith Jones also holds an executive MBA specializing in Aboriginal Business and Leadership from Simon Fraser University. Just this month, she was appointed parliamentary secretary to Canada?s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stéphane Dion. After a busy month since the election she has much to share about her recent experiences in Ottawa and is eager to hear from Whistler and answer questions from our business community.

MP for West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country
Pamela Goldsmith-Jones is a longtime resident of West Vancouver, and has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her community by championing citizen engagement and community leadership. It is as a result of this commitment to community that she was twice elected mayor of West Vancouver.
As mayor, Pam prioritized the attraction of talent to her community and supported citizens in their leadership efforts. She also quickly became known for her big and bold ideas, and for her commitment to urban revitalization, conservation, child care, and the arts. She prioritized conservation in West Vancouver, working on projects such as the reduction of solid waste, and the restoration of the foreshore/intertidal zone, for which the city was awarded the Global Green City Award at the United Nations? Global Forum on Human Settlements. Pam was also a key component in Vancouver?s fundraising efforts for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
In 2011, Pam retired from municipal politics in order to complete her executive MBA at Simon Fraser University, specializing in Aboriginal Business and Leadership. She now runs a successful public affairs consulting firm in Vancouver.
