He graduated from Pemberton High School in 1994 and was awarded a (fake?) gold watch from the Whistler Chamber of Commerce the next year for his busboy skills at Sushi Village. He attended the University of Victoria to study writing and film and\, after graduating\, returned home to the mountains to continue living the dream.
