Two of the 46 Private Members Bills passed since was first elected in 2008 are his\, combating Crystal Meth\, and rising rates of obesity through a National Health and Fitness Day.\n\nJohn fought successfully for four key things in an around Budget 2015\, including improving the RRIF/RRSP program for Seniors across Canada\; investing in the Pacific Salmon Foundation's science-driven study of salmon in the Georgia Strait\; investing in the DFO Laboratory in our riding\; and increasing funding for tourism.\n\nJohn\, his wife Donna\, and their three teenage children love to spend time at their place in Whistler. He has studied in five countries\, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard and his law degree from Osgoode Hall. \n\n\n\nKEN MELAMED - GREEN PARTY\n\n\n\nKen is an avid skier\, hiker\, and mountain biker known for his hard work in local government. Serving as Whistler's Mayor during the 2010 Olympics\, Ken helped his community host the best games ever. A devoted husband and father\, Ken has been building relationships in our region since 1976. An active volunteer\, ski patroller\, and stonemason\, Ken is also the Green Party of Canada's Finance Critic.\n\n\n\nLARRY KOOPMAN - NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY\n\n \n\nLarry is a successful small business operator and experienced educator in our community. Growing up on a family farm in a small rural town\, Larry learned the importance of working hard and pulling together during tough times. After earning his education degree\, Larry dedicated much of his career to helping others. Currently\, Larry is Sunshine Coast Community Coordinator for the Opportunities Fund\, helping people with disabilities access employment training. He also created\, developed and managed the Greater Vancouver Business Leadership Network\, educating employers about hiring people with disabilities. Larry is also a business owner who understands fiscal responsibility. He has successfully managed a cottage-rental business in Gibsons for 14 years. He is proud to promote our beautiful region?and driven by a determination to grow our economy and protect the environment at the same time. Larry has been married to his wife Lynn for 34 years. Together\, they enjoy the great outdoors and all that our region has to offer - including great hiking\, skiing\, canoeing and gardening.\n\n \n\nPAM GOLDSMITH-JONES - LIBERAL PARTY\n\n\n\nPam Goldsmith-Jones is a longtime resident of West Vancouver\, and has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her community by championing citizen engagement and community leadership. It is as a result of this commitment to community that she was twice elected mayor of West Vancouver.\n\nAs mayor\, Pam enthusiastically supported community engagement and citizen leadership development. Pam was instrumental in bringing forward big\, bold ideas that attracted new energy to West Vancouver's neighbourhoods. Her priority for community-shared concerns was evident through her focus on urban revitalization\, conservation\, childcare and the arts.\n\nPam advanced conservation in West Vancouver\, including work on projects such as solid waste reduction and the foreshore/intertidal zone restoration\, which resulted in West Vancouver being awarded the UN Global Green City Award.
