SUMMARY:Emergency First Aid - June 2026 Cohort
DESCRIPTION:This one-day course combines first aid\, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) content\, along with other important emergency skills. Students will learn to prevent\, recognize\, and prepare for different types of emergencies. \n\nCourse Content:\n\n  Preventing and preparing to respond to emergencies\n\n  The EMS system (Emergency Medical Services) - when and how to access help\n\n  Airway and breathing emergencies (choking\, asthma\, anaphylactic shock)\n\n  Circulation emergencies (life threatening bleeding\, heart attack\, stroke\, shock)\n\n  Respiratory and cardiac arrest\n\n  CPR and AED's\n\n  Wound care\n\n  Workplace documentation and how to complete a first aid record\n\n  The Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) and safety data sheets\n\n  Roles and responsibility of a first aid attendant in the workplace\n\n \n\nProvided Materials:\n\n  Online e-manual (comprehensive PDF guide)\n\n  Digital certification card\n\n \n\nCertification:\n\nSuccessful completion of this course will result in a 3-year certification in Emergency First Aid\, CPR Level C or Health Care Providers (HCP)\, and AED.\n\nThis course is equivalent to OFA 1 and is accepted by WorkSafeBC. It includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.\n\n\n\nCompletion Requirements:\n\nParticipants must be present for the entirety of the course\, participate in skills demonstrations\, and pass the written exam with a minimum 75% passing grade.\nFacilitator: Whistler First Aid\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhistler First Aid has been providing first aid training services to businesses and individuals in the Sea to Sky corridor for over 7 years. Their team of educators are also first responders in our community and have extensive real life experience in emergency care. \n\n\n\nStriving to provide a fun\, comfortable and educational experience for students\, Whistler First Aid's courses include scenario-based practice and skills stations to help prepare you for emergency situations. Courses are also a great team-building exercise! \n\n\n\nWhistler First Aid has kindly offered to provide first aid kits\, restocking supplies\, and disaster kits at a discounted rate for Members of the Whistler Chamber and any local businesses registered for this course. They also provide first aid attendants or medics for special events. If interested\, contact training@whistlerfirstaid.ca.\n\n\n\nThis course has a max capacity of 18 participants.\n\n\n\nA unique email address is required for each attendee. This is a requirement in order to process the Emergency First Aid certifications at the conclusion of the course.\n\n\n\nCancellation Policy: Payment is non refundable for cancellations made within 3 business days of the event\, or non attendance on the day.
