Through regular touch points with our members and a robust annual schedule with our advocacy committee we keep our finger on the pulse\, developing timely advocacy efforts that help elevate Whistler's business. \n\n\n\nJoin the Whistler Chamber and Nancy Healey\, Commissioner for Employers on June 9 for a roundtable discussion.\n\n\n\nWe know labour remains a challenge and this is a great opportunity for the government to hear from you directly. Commissioner Healy is responsible for representing the views and positions of employers on matters that relate to employment and social development programs. By consulting stakeholders\, she is able to convey concerns regarding administration of legislation\, policy development and program delivery.\n\n\n\nDuring this interactive session\, Commissioner Healey will give an overview of the EI program and initiatives to help employers with labour shortages. Plus\, you'll have the chance to discuss what you are experiencing as an employer. \n\n\n\nThis is sure to be a great discussion so\, reserve your seat at the table today!\n\n\n\nAbout Commissioner for Employers: Nancy Healey\n\n\n\nMs. Nancy Healey was appointed as the Commissioner for Employers at the Canada Employment Insurance Commission for a two-year term\, effective July 26\, 2021. Ms. Healey is an award-winning chamber executive with 20 years of strategic and innovative leadership as a champion for business. From 2008 to 2020\, she was CEO of the St. John's Board of Trade\, where she helped businesses succeed through advocacy work at the municipal\, provincial\, and federal levels. Prior to that\, Ms. Healey served as the executive director of an industry sector association dedicated to growing the hospitality and tourism industry.\n\n\n\nMs. Healey has served on the Board of Directors of the Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union\, was a pas president of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada\, and a past director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce\, where she was named executive of the year in 2018.
