Title: Language Resource Worker (tier 1) or Language Teacher (tier 2)

Pay Grid: SAT or Teachers = $46,683-$109,520
Reporting to: School Administrators
Summary of Duties:
This position has two tiers Language Resource Worker or Language Teacher - pay and education are reflective of each tier. The position teaches with the support and guidance of a qualified teacher and teaches a variety of subjects such as social studies, math, science, physical education, arts, English, Super Courses, Ucwalmicwts Language, etc.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- Involvement with developing and delivering lessons plans based on course essential learning outcomes
- Maintain a daybook with lesson plans
- Records student attendance in class
- Records, maintains, and updates student achievements data
- Involvement with assigning students grades and comments for reporting purposes
- Assist qualified teacher with developing long range plans centered on curricular and essential learning outcomes
- Regularly communicates with students about their progress
- Accommodate the needs of students including but not limited to specifications outlines in plans such as IEPs
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- University degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (tier 1).
- Possession of/or ability to apply for a BC Teaching Certificate (tier 2).
- TQS Category (tier 2).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
- Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
