Apprentice Carpenter

Construction & Trades

Tiedeman Custom Construction is looking for an Apprentice Carpenter with at least 1 year of experience to join our team specializing in high-quality custom homes, commercial builds and renovations throughout the Sea to Sky region. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, professionalism, and maintaining a positive team culture.

The successful applicant will:

  • Assist in all aspects of residential construction
  • Perform framing, finishing and general carpentry
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Install doors, windows, siding, trim and cabinetry
  • Complete demolition and renovation work
  • Measure, cut and install building materials accurately
  • Operate hand and power tools safely
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Follow WorkSafeBC safety procedures
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Assist lead carpenters on a variety of construction tasks

Qualifications

  • Registered carpenter apprentice or equivalent carpentry experience
  • Experience in residential construction
  • Ability to use common carpentry hand and power tools
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labour
  • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • English language ability sufficient to work safely on construction sites

Assets (Not Required)

  • First Aid certification
  • Fall Protection certification
  • Telehandler or skid steer experience
  • Scaffolding experience

Work Conditions

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • Residential construction sites
  • Standing, climbing ladders, lifting materials and repetitive physical tasks

Compensation

  • $37-$40 per hour dependent on experience and tools
  • 2 weeks paid vacation
